2025 GMC Yukon Release Date

2025 GMC Yukon Release Date

According to GM reports, the new 2025 GMC Yukon will start production in October and arrive at dealerships like ours in the latter part of the year. Both the GMC Yukon and its long-wheelbase brother the Yukon XL are full-size SUVs that offer a choice of two proven V8 engines. One is a capable inline six-cylinder diesel engine with surprisingly strong fuel efficiency. It also has an independent rear suspension that will take a big step forward in better handling compared with the previous year's solid rear axle. Here are some of the other strengths of the new 2025 GMC Yukon that you'll see when it arrives at A. Crivelli Buick GMC in Reno, PA.

What's new for 2025?

Full details about the new 2025 GMC Yukon are yet to be announced but it's expected to get a newly restyled fascia in both the front and the back. The newest version of the Yukon will also have new wheel designs along with a more luxurious interior. The stellar diesel six cylinder engine is likely to get a power boost and take you up to 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque.

Trim levels for 2025

The new 2025 GMC Yukon will once again offer five trims for Oil City and Reno PA buyers to choose from: SLE, SLT, AT4, Denali and Denali Ultimate. You can get a high level of value in the SLT trim with features like 20-inch wheels, heated and cooled front seats, a power liftgate and leather upholstery. The rugged AT4 has a compelling off-road story and the luxurious Denali and Denali Ultimate models are especially appealing with premium touches like hand-stitched leather upholstery.

Engines and performance

The new Yukon gives Franklin and Seneca PA buyers three outstanding engine choices that include two gasoline-powered V8s and a torque-rich diesel. The 5.3-liter V8 can be counted on for 355 horsepower and 355 pound-feet of torque. The 6.2-liter V8 has even more muscle with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The 3.0-liter turbocharged 6-cylinder diesel is expected to raise its game up to 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque.

If you select the off-road AT4 you'll be rolling with 20-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, a two-speed transfer case and underbody skid plates. With the AT4 you have the option of upgrading to an air suspension system that can give you up to two extra inches of ground clearance. Acceleration times haven't yet been released but it's estimated that with the 6.2-liter V8 in a Denali the GMC Yukon can reach 60 mph in about 6.0 seconds.

Towing and payload capability

The towing king of the GMC Yukon lineup is the 5.3-liter V8 engine with rear-wheel drive that can tow up to 8400 pounds. The 6.2-liter V8 comes close to the same number with 8300 pounds and its extra 105 pound-feet of torque can be a big help when you're pulling heavy loads. The Duramax® diesel can deliver 8200 pounds of maximum towing for Titusville and Hermitage families. The maximum payload in a new GMC Yukon should be in the neighborhood of 1,900 pounds.

Interior features

Details on the cabin of the 2025 GMC Yukon are still to come but the size and layout should stay the same. The Yukon and the long-wheelbase Yukon XL both provide seating for a family of eight and seven if you get the popular captains chairs in the second row. Denali models are expected to get the same premium interior as before. There will be a generous amount of cargo space in the Yukon XL and that should measure about 145 cubic feet.
